I am Howard Garrett Jr., and I am honored to be running for the ANC Commissioner seat for 2G01. DC is my home, and I have a deep admiration for the sense of opportunity here that allows every individual to live as freely as they choose. I feel a strong duty to give back to this city, which has become my forever home. My dedication to public service is not just a job, but a calling. Having immersed myself in the fabric of Ward 2, personally and professionally, I have been fortunate to engage in various avenues of service. From working in housing, to mentoring through Best Kids, and participating on numerous boards, I have gained invaluable insights into the vital principles of equity and opportunity.

I firmly believe that everyone should have access to affordable housing, the means to improve their lives, and fair representation in the decision-making processes that affect them. I have dedicated myself to being an advocate for change and a source of support for the families facing hardships across our city. Through my involvement and activism, I have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to serving the community I proudly call home. I am honored to have earned the trust of my fellow residents and become a recognized leader in Ward 2 and throughout DC. My roles as the National Committeeman for the DC Young Dems, DC Democratic State Committee Member, Corresponding Secretary for the Ward 2 Dems, and Secretary for the Capital Stonewall Democrats reflect my dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of those around me.
